Should You Play Diablo 2 Resurrected This Year

matthewvolb94: I played this game like 20 years ago and 10 years ago I just got clean from fentanyl for the first time in 7 years and I'm trying to find a job just so I can play this game so I have something to do to stay clean.
osmundofcouchcrushers6431: The game brings back a feel that cant be replicated, not nostalgia but i feel of smooth design, smooth gameplay. I find myself playing it often.
smalps-gaming: Greatest game of all time! No question. You nailed all the points of why people still play this game. From itemization, the unique acts, classes are all different and perfect in their own way. The way each class compliments each other in party play. You can play however you want. Solo, party, small groups, MF, SSF, offline, SC, HC, PvP. It can be so complex or so simple at the same time.

And we all experience it differently in our own way.

I still play it everyday. Because the mechanics just feel great.
robinalexander3532: I've been playing this game since it first came out, through all the patches. Now at 76 I still play every day. My reactions are not what they used to be, but who cares. I play single player offline, so I'm not holding anyone up. If you've never played it, start now.

pepedeltoro6647: I just came back to d2r 2 weeks ago after a 4-5 year break. I decided to play SSF offline this time and give it a serious shot, and it's so much fun. I always played online previously but SSF is even more fun!! The ability to have free respecs, /player x and static maps is awesome. The whole free respecs makes u able to swap to a lot of different builds if you were to find some cool uniques or made different runewords!
EirikrTheRed: I love that you mention the lobby. I miss that. The hardcore characters had a different stance. I’d leave my high level HC characters in lobby for everyone to check out. Put a 2hand axe on my zon so she looked cool etc. lol. Was awesome.
Da_Bashi: Amen brother. Started playing diablo 2 when I was 9 years old, because my father played it. I sometimes stop playing it but just like you I always return to diablo 2. I remember back in 1.09 I had my bowazon with windforce and black hades with 40% ed 15%ias jewels and this amazon was fking broken... and then 1.10 and the new runewords were released and my bowazon felt like shooting with cottonballs. But I still play from time to time and recently found my 3 zod overall since I play this game. Yep 23 years for 3 zod's.

kristopherleslie8343: As good (even great) as it is, the game is unfinished and incomplete. If blizzard actually took it serious then it would have been iconic beyond ARPG.

I think it probably needs to have a Diablo series anime Netflix treatment and a big screen movie done right to draw people in more.
charlesward6217: ID come back in a heartbeat if blizz could ban bots. I've played d2 on and off for 25 years. Was die hard the first 10. Bots just ruin the game, unless you are single solo found. Bots ruin trading within days of a ladder resetting, destroys the market, combined with d2jsp makes it a complete pay to win game. God i miss the OG days

Funguspower2: ive accepted no ARPG is going to touch this game. They refuse to give us anything remotely close to what a runeword is. They cannot get bases right. Variety and variables on bases is a chase alone. there is zero investment in pvp, yes pvp is fun in d2r, look at Coooleys and others tournaments, that is a blast to watch weekly. I don't know man. I think it's D2R until we're in retirement homes bros

garythacker6731: Been playing a lot of d2r. I cant stand it on controller. I feel like. I have much more control over my character on mouse a keyboard. I can teleport to any location on my screen as opposed to the fixed distance teleport has on console. I also have like 20 keybinds. Aiming spells like blizzard also sucks on controller as well.

AlenFetic84: For sure in my opinion Diablo II is in top 3 games of all times. I also still to this day play Heroes III. These 2 games are my favourites of all times, than I would also add Starcraft brood war. There is top 3 for me.
theskunkking28: Diablo 2 quite possibly might be the best game of all time. With the resurrected version now, brought back my love. I wish original starcraft had a following like it did when resurrected came out. Thats a game i miss playing as well but starcraft remastered is dead.

SomeRetroGuy: My ex girlfriend's grandfather only played one game, Diablo 2. Back in 2012 id go to her house and he was always in the den on his PC playing the game. I was more into starcraft growing up as far as blizzard games go, and really didnt play diablo 2 all that much. I rented the first diablo on ps1 and couldnt beat the butcher and just said fuck this game lmao. Now that im finally into it, I always wonder what he was doing and how much he could teach me if he was alive still (and if my ex wasnt crazy).
veluk88: This game beats any other h&s in terms of pure gameplay. No bull$it mechanics, seasons, different weird seasonaly activities to cover lacking character development and items grind.
There is you, your skills, your items and anything that stands in your way.

Your character build depend 90% on skills you chose. Even in shit gear, it's playable, you are just weaker.
On the other hand in d4, you build does not exist without certain items - which is the dumbest idea ever.
PoE is fun, but it's too complex for no reason.
Ofc d2 is not perfect, it could really use some quality of life improvements, but it's still an awesome experience to this day.
